Due to their safety, durability and longevity, EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) compounds are particularly suitable for use in drinking water systems. Manufacturers worldwide rely on our expertise to ensure the quality and safety of drinking water. In demanding environments, EPDM compounds provide a reliable solution that meets stringent regulatory requirements while reducing maintenance needs.
The KTW-BWGL (Evaluation Criteria for Plastics and other Organic Materials in Contact with Drinking Water) is an evaluation basis by the German Federal Environment Agency, legally binding since March 21, 2021, for plastics, organic coatings and lubricants that come into contact with drinking water.
DIN EN 16421 addresses the "Influence of materials on water intended for human consumption - Growth of microorganisms." This standard describes test methods to determine the ability of non-metallic materials to support the growth of microorganisms in drinking water.
ACS (Attestation de Conformité Sanitaire) is a certification process in France that ensures that materials and products in contact with drinking water meet hygiene requirements. The ACS certification is mandatory for all construction products and materials in contact with drinking water in France, ensuring that they do not release harmful substances and do not affect water quality.
WRAS stands for the "Water Regulations Advisory Scheme" and is a certification process in the United Kingdom that ensures materials and products that come into contact with drinking water comply with the legal requirements of UK water regulations. WRAS certification is mandatory for all products and materials used in water supply systems and confirms that they do not release harmful substances into the water, thereby ensuring the quality of the drinking water is not compromised.
The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) is a U.S. agency regulating the safety of food, drugs and products. FDA approval ensures that materials in contact with drinking water meet health standards and are safe for use.
The 3-A Sanitary Standards are American hygiene standards ensuring that equipment and materials in contact with drinking water are manufactured hygienically. These standards minimize the risk of contamination and ensure the safety of drinking water by specifying how sanitary parts should be designed to prevent contamination and allow easy cleaning.
